We checked the draft against proven commercial patterns for the same style: the key measurements match.
The pattern maker checks the draft itself: width and length, the shape of the arm cutout, and that the bib is narrower than the apron. You'll find the results in the "Draft check" section.
How to print and tape
Download the PDF on Letter or A4 sheets and print at 100% scale, without "fit to page". The first sheet has the test square: measure it with a ruler. Tape the sheets together with an overlap along the strips ⅜ in1 cm; sheet numbers and the assembly diagram are on the first page. For a copy shop or plotter, choose "One-sheet PDF".
What you get
A full-size apron on the fold and a pocket, with hem allowances along the edges and a pocket mark. The strap and ties are cut as strips — the dimensions are below the drawing.
FAQ
How wide should the apron be?
The pattern maker uses half the hip plus 7⅛ in18 cm — the apron covers the front and wraps onto the sides. The bib across the top is a quarter of the bust plus 2 in5 cm, and its height from the waistband is 0.3 of the bust; you can set your own.
What fabric should I use?
Sturdy cotton, linen, linen blend, denim, canvas. For an apron that doesn't soak through, use coated fabric or oilcloth: its edges don't need a double hem.
How do I sew it?
Double-fold all the edges (by ⅜ in1 cm) and topstitch. Attach the pocket: fold the top under by 1⅛ in3 cm, turn the other edges in, stitch it on at the mark, and stitch down the middle — that gives you two compartments. Make the strap and ties: fold a strip in quarters and topstitch, then sew them to the corners of the bib and to the sides at waistband level.
How long should it be?
From the waistband, 15¾ in40 cm is a short apron, 55–60 comes to the knee, and 80 and more is long, barista style. The bib is added above.
