About SewSize
SewSize drafts sewing patterns from your own measurements instead of a size chart. You enter the numbers, the pattern is calculated for them, and you download it as a PDF for your home printer or a copy shop. It is free and needs no account.
The pattern engine was first built for vikroim.ru, a Russian-language sewing site. SewSize is its international version, with inches, US Letter paper and translated instructions.
How the patterns are made
Each garment follows classic flat-pattern drafting: a block is drafted from body measurements, ease is added for the chosen fit, and design features — flare, darts, plackets, collars — are built on top. After drafting, every pattern is checked automatically: seams that are sewn together must have the same length, the waistline must add up to your waist plus ease, and so on. You can see these checks under the drawing.
Beta
The pattern maker is still in beta. The formulas are tested against proven patterns, but bodies vary: please sew a test garment from inexpensive fabric first. If something looks wrong, tell us — reports help us fix it for everyone.
